Debating Delight

On Wednesday, June 1st, the Lake Wyangan Public School debating team consisting of Dylan Hately, Lily Mahoney, Alice Polkinghorne and Josh Ellis travelled to Bilbul Public School for Round 1 of the Griffith Debating competition. All new to the formal format and experience of debating the students preparation and character overcame their anxieties against an equally new opposition team from Bilbul. Lake Wyangan Public School had been assigned the Negative team for the topic 'Parents always spoil their children's fun'. In a close the debate and with the team line 'Fun is like a river, you can shape it, change it, block it, but you can't stop it!' Lake Wyangan were the declared the days winners by the adjudicator Mrs Jane Gibbs from Yoogali. Well done, Alice, Dylan, Josh and Lily!
